The Lehenga Chronicles

As Indians, we are big on our idea of celebrations when it is the festive season or special events of life. It is a grand affair because we believe that happiness multiplies when shared with your loved ones, and what's a celebration if not a glorious one. Being the quirky fashion enthusiast that I am, I usually do not like repeating outfits unless ofcourse I can recreate a new look with it. I had picked up this Golden Lehenga from one of the local stores during one of my shopping sprees to prepare for a family wedding. I can never follow the trends in fashion, because hey how will you stand out otherwise. I remember when I picked up this lehenga a couple of years back, traditional gowns had suddenly found all this attention and the concept of lehengas and cholis or sarees for the wedding season looked faded. I was not sure how I was going to pair up the lehenga but because I loved it when I first saw it, I decided to buy it anyway. I wanted to try our unconventional combinations a...

The losses I didn't deserve, but mourned them... Friends!

Being the most forgiving person sometimes only takes a toll on your own self. After all these years of constantly practicing various ways to keep my anger in check, the lockdown really did its own magic in letting those buried emotions find its way out. For once when you finally sit by yourself and think that life has finally fallen in place, you have the correct set of people around that you always wished for but alas, life always has to throw a curve ball to make you feel uncomfortable. When you count on your friends over your family blindly enough, I guess it just hurts you deeper than you know when it turns out that none were ever by your side. Over the years I have lost innumerable people that apparently I called Friends, because we spent the kind of time together, invested in each other, celebrated good and bad days together, held each other through our own terrible cycles of emotions. But with time and every passing year, I would find myself struggling all over again to interact...
